A FULL Week-End

Our week-ends are usually not much different than any other day of the week, but last week-end was SUPER DUPER.

Saturday was the annual Women's Retreat.   Last year we had 83, Saturday we had 104.   I was in two different groups during the day and it was wonderful.  We shared a lot of ourselves, learned it's O.K. not to be PERFECT.  Had a wonderful musician come and sing for us.   She's also a minister here in Nashville at a church where she has many homeless people and addicts attend.  Gosh, so different than anything I've ever gone to.

Yesterday the young man from Uganda gave a short story about Sponsoring a child.   He had a lady there with him that was a sponsor and she explained how it works and read part of a letter from the child she and her family sponsor.  I helped tell people how the program works after church and that family was there with me.   They sponsor three children and someday hope to go see them in Uganda.

The lady that heads up the sewing guild suggested she and I buy a bolt of fabric and make dresses for the girls.   David had asked how many we could get out of the same kind of fabric.  She got to meet David after church and she and her husband want to come to our house the next time David and Marlene come for dinner.   May have to have a bigger room than my little kitchen.  :)

Ted and I sponsor a little boy now.   This means he can go to school, get a uniform, get health screening and have better food.   Now Ted wants to sponsor another child and I want to do something for this little boys grandmother.   She looked like she could use a bit of help too.

Well, kids, your inheritance may be going to Uganda but I know you all understand.

It was a VERY GOOD week-end.
