Just read a clip on my CNN News that a lady named Barbara Ann Fenton suggested to the Republican Party that they support Same Sex Marriage. Ms Fenton is not only a woman, she's a Roman Catholic. She had two supporters but they were also women. All the men were against it.
This just reaffirms my belief that God is a Woman and we need a Woman President. She'd take a different approach to world affairs, the economy, and running this country.
How old is Chelsea Clinton?

CUSTOMER SERVICE
Oh yes, I just LOVE Customer Service. Yesterday I could not get my little T.V. in the sewing room to come on. All I got was a bunch of mumbo, jumbo on the screen. I kept thinking pretty soon it will come on. BUT...this morning it still was not responding and since we pay extra for this T.V. it was time they got it fixed.
SO...I tried calling Customer Service but they were not available for a couple of hours. SO I tried dishcustomerservice.com
I communicated on line with a person named Bhargava (ID-D52) How about that for a name? I said a quick THANK YOU that I did not have to listen to his voice. After every one of my posts he would type Okay and be gone awhile. Been there - Done that!!!!! This is where they go to the book that says CANNOT GET A PICTURE ON T.V. and sees what the book says to do.
Well, Bhargava and I communicated on line for about 40 minutes and we were getting nowhere. I told him I had a lot to do today and felt this was taking way too long. SO...he put me through to a HIGH TECH person names Oscar. I was glad I didn't have to speak directly to him. Figured I would of chuckled when he told me his name.
BUT...by golly after another 30 minutes Oscar and I together got this T.V. working and I'm a happy sewer again.
I did ask where they were located and after a long pause he typed "TULSA, OK" RIGHT!!!!!!

MEMORIAL DAY
I am aware that Memorial Day is a day to honor our Veterans and pay tribute to the one's that gave their lives for us.
BUT...when I was a little girl it was one of the highlights of our year. My mom would get up early and pick as many peonies and she could, put them in a bucket of water and we'd get all dressed up and drive to the cemetary in Ipava.
Here she would decorate her parents graves, my dads parents graves, and my dads grave. There would be old friends from her youth there and they would all visit for what seemed like hours to me. If there was a grave with no flowers on it someone would usually find extra flowers to decorate it.
In this particular cemetary was an old mosoleum. When I was real small I would always ask to stop there and I would jump out of the car, run over to it and yell, "HELLO". I loved the silly sound it made never thinking it was not very respectful of the dead.
One time I took our girls to the cemetary and told them this story. We got out of the car and went up to it and yelled, "HELLO". Connie was just a little tyke and she said, "Nobody home". We got so every time we drove by a cemetary someone would say, "Nobody home".
I realize now what a sad day this is for many people. I hardly ever get to the cemetary to put flowers on mom's grave. Sometimes when we are in Illinois I will go and put flowers on it. I wonder if they still gather there and visit like she and so many others did 60 or 70 years ago. Somehow I doubt it.

Comparing My Body to My Computer
The other day I had a really neat blog written. It was fantastic - I kid you not. I was just checking it and suddenly it disappeared.
So we took my computer in to be checked to see if it had a cold or tired bones or just what was going on.
Picked it up this morning and he was very kind when he told me my computer was getting old. He didn't say it but I saw him kind of grin. I've been thinking about that and here is what I decided.
Computer just gets kind of foggy in the middle of a program and closes the window. - I get really tired and either forget what I was doing or need to sleep a little.
Computer is SO slow sometimes - Well, I am not as fast as I once was either.
Computer seems to have some excess baggage that it doesn't need - I think that's what the Dr. was trying to tell me last month when he said what was wrong with me HE couldn't fix. Smart aleck Dr.
They could install a program that would make it faster for $200 but he said he didn't think I should do that on a computer this old. Man, they throw that word around so easily.
I guess my old computer and I will just have to work it out for awhile longer. The man at Staples was very kind and I guess maybe he has someone old in his family too.

Best Mail Ever
Yesterday in the mail was a letter from the lady that is CEO of Raise The Roof, Inc. It included a picture that our little Steven from Africa had drawn for us. It's precious. I looked at it and thought of him drawing it and coloring everything on there. The house he drew is mostly yellow. I wondered why a little boy in Africa would draw a yellow house. I came to the conclusion he would like a bright, pretty house like many of us live in. I'm sure there are few yellow houses where he lives.
Then he drew a picture of a bouquet. It too, is beautiful and very colorful.

Also in the letter were pictures of some of the girls we had made dresses for with them modeling. I almost cried. I got so excited. My neighbor, Nancy, had also made dresses so I ran up there and showed her. She's not a member of our church but she wanted to do this. She almost cried too. Here are a couple of those pictures.
I look at these little girls and the smiles say all there is to say. How could something so little mean so much?
I am so glad to be a part of this ministry.

FINALLY
O.K., O.K., it took me awhile to get here but I FINALLY found my way.
It's been a wonderful week. Last week-end I was with Kim at the Women's Retreat from her church. What fun and what a wonderful bunch of women. We laughed, cried, took a hike, looked at the beautiful view of the lake, and ATE. Boy, did we eat.
After I finally found my keys on Sunday morning, lunch was eaten, Ron came to save the day, and everyone left, I went to visit a long time friend. She moved to Springfield many years ago and we never get to see each other. She had all her family there for dinner Sunday night and that was great.
Reconnecting with old time friends is wonderful when you are OLD. I looked at her girls and remembered them growing up. Jill and Joan were the same age and they kept us young. :)
Then Monday I went to the Midwest Distribution Center outside of Springfield and worked. A high school classmate joined me and we had a good visit. She and I never ran with the same crowd in high school but in recent years have been corresponding and working on class reunions together. I learned her life was not all sunshine and roses although that's the way it looked to me when we were young.
Ted worked on a project for Kim but that's not my story. I hope one of them write about it along with pictures.
I have a couple more stories but they have to wait for another day.
If I can remember what I did to get on here these will follow soon.

IN SELF DEFENSE
It used to be if you were arrested for something you could plead "temporary insanity" and usually get off with a lighter sentence.
The latest trend is "Self Defense".
Now I'm just winging this statement, but if I were attacked I do think I would fight with all I could muster in this old body to protect myself. I guess in that respect the attacker could say it was "self defense". But...if they had not already started the attack there would be no reason for me to attack them.
Makes no sense to me. This morning the headline on my home page was that a serial killer accused of killing some 700 people plead "self defense".
He should be glad I'm not going to be on that jury.
