Well, I didn't win the BIG ONE - What's that? Oh, I had to buy a ticket? Oh Darn.
I tried to think what I could do with all that money. I cannot imagine how much money that is. To think we could go buy anything we wanted, whenever we wanted and not have to worry about having enough money to get to the first of the next month. WOW!!!!
But think about it. Wouldn't it get kind of boring after awhile? Even trying to figure out what charities to give money to might get kind of old. It sure would be nice to see the faces of some little kids tho that don't get enough to eat or have but one or two pair of shoes to wear to be able to go get new ones.
I've heard that people that do win those big lotteries usually end up broke or in a rehab center, most of them divorce. I can't think of much I'd really change about my life. I have 4 great kids, 6 of the neatest grandkids anyone ever dreamed of having. We are all relatively healthy and have enough - I mean enough of everything we need. I have some wonderful friends, one of the best church families anywhere and by golly I don't need a lottery ticket to make me happy.

Memories are Made of This
Kim and family came last Saturday. She doesn't get down too often and we understand since it's a fer piece from her house to ours. We always like to have something to do while they are here and usually try to gather the other chicks around.
Sunday was just such a day. Mark was out of state and we all missed his comical comments but Jeremiah, Benjamin and Sierra had a few of their own to add to the conversation.
None of them have completely outgrown their old grandma yet but that day is coming soon. I'm prepared. The rite of passage when you get taller than grandma is "you have to give her a kiss on the forehead". SO just be prepared.
We had a few squabbles, some roudy Wii games, I got beat several times playing cards, but it was a great week-end. They are growing up fast.
Sierra had brought some art supplies and I had some here too so she kept busy when the boys were trying to beat me at a card game or anything else they could think of.
She made this picture and I loved it so. I asked her if I could have it and she said it was for a teacher. BUT...the night before they left she came out and gave it to me. I LOVE IT and it is proudly on my refrigerator where all my special pictures go. Thanks, Sierra.
And...thanks to all that came for giving grandad and I one more week-end of special memories.
NOTE!!!! I could not download the picture and I apologize to Sierra. I STILL LOVE THE PICTURE.

WE HAVE TWO QUARTERBACKS
Well, some of you know that Manning came for a talk with the Titans this week. I guess one of the T.V. stations tried to get a picture of ol Bud Adams plane that went to get him. Why they had to go get him is beyond me.
They hid the plane when they saw the T.V. cameras. The reporter said they got closer to the Presidents plane than this one.
I am probably one of maybe 10 people in Tennessee that wish he would just go away. We have two really good quarterbacks, thank you very much, and if they'd let Jake Locker play he would show them. Why they don't ask me I don't know.
I heard yesterday that the Broncos offered him 90 Million to come and play as long as he was healthy. Any red blooded idiot would take that offer - GO FOR IT PEYTON!!!!
What really gets me is they act like he's some kind of a GOD. Good heavens, I may just have to be a New Orleans Saints fan after all.

A Man In Need
I contacted a neighbor today about finding a chiropractor. This lady works for the state and helps people that are in need of help. She sees the poorest of the poor.
We started out emailing each other but I finally gave up and called her. She had asked if Ted had any old clothes he could give to someone. This man is smaller than Ted, weighs 116 lbs. and only has one outfit of clothing. I think Ted's clothes will be a little big I figured he could spare a pair or two of pants even though he doesn't have too many clothes himself.
She told me the man had fallen and hit his head and had to be taken to a hospital and had gotten blood on his pillowcase. That was several days ago and it was still on there so you know his sheets must be dirty too.
He was worried about the hospital bill until the man that took him said the hospital had written it off and he didn't need to worry about that. He had worked till a few months ago when the company shut down. I guess he has enough money to pay his rent till October, then he doesn't know what he's going to do.
Someone gave us several bars of soap for the Domestic Abuse Center the other day so I got some of those, some wash cloths, some towels, a blanket and by the time I had that gathered up Ted had some slacks, a couple of sweat shirts, a couple of flannel shirts and some heavy socks.
It's hard for me to think of someone that doesn't have warm clothing or clean sheets and towels. I bet he doesn't have any food either.
The neighbor said she was going to get him a housekeeper so someone would at least clean the place up a bit and change his sheets.
The neighbor has had some health issues and I can see why. She deals with this type of situation all the time. Things like this bother me - a lot. No one should have to live like this in Williamson County or ANY county in America.
